Year 4 got their new year off to a monumental start by heading into Birmingham city centre to see the Egyptian display at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.
We also managed to see some displays about the history of Birmingham.
But the main event was seeing the incredible artifacts collected in the Egypt section. Aside from some replica masks we saw some real mummies! One of them was even a crocodile! And, most disgusting of all, there were some canopic jars which were special flasks that were used to keep the Pharaoh's organs in after they were mummified! Urgh!
We had a great time and we think it might be quite fun to make some canopic jars ourselves. Check back with us to see how we got on.
