The PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to enhance the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and school sport.

At Mapledene Primary School, we use this funding to create sustainable improvements that benefit all pupils. The grant enables us to develop staff expertise, improve the quality of PE teaching, increase opportunities for children to be active, and provide a wider range of sporting experiences both within and beyond the curriculum.

The funding also allows us to provide additional swimming opportunities, enhance our extra-curricular sporting provision through a wide range of after-school clubs, and invest in high-quality equipment and resources to enrich PE lessons and active play.

Our aim is to build a lasting legacy by developing the school's capacity and capability, ensuring that the improvements we make today continue to benefit current pupils and future generations of children at Mapledene.
