Year 6 Residential 2026 - Parent and pupil feedback

We are delighted to share the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both parents and children following our recent Year 6 residential trip to Boreatton Park.
Parents felt extremely well informed ahead of the trip, with the vast majority reporting they were very satisfied with the information provided. All parents agreed that their children were well prepared, helping to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
The children’s feedback reflects this strong start. The vast majority of children said they loved the trip, with almost all others saying they liked it. The visit was filled with memorable experiences, and overwhelmingly, the most enjoyed activities were the zip-wire, giant swing and canoeing, clear favourites that pupils were especially excited to talk about on their return.
The impact on pupils was clear to see. Most children returned feeling very positive about their experience, and encouragingly, every parent felt that the trip supported their child’s confidence and independence. Children themselves agreed, with most saying the trip helped them feel more confident and others saying it helped at least a little.
Feedback on practical aspects of the trip was equally strong. Children spoke highly of the food, with most rating it as excellent or good, which was echoed by parents who reported very positive comments from their children. Accommodation was also well received, and most pupils rated it positively.
Safety and care were a top priority throughout. All parents agreed that their child was safe and well looked after, and most children also said they felt comfortable and safe during the trip. Where some children reported not feeling completely comfortable, this reflected minor discomfort with accommodation rather than any sense of being unsafe.
The residential also provided valuable social opportunities. Many children said they made new friends or worked with different classmates, helping to strengthen relationships across the year group.
Overall, the residential was a resounding success, with every parent rating the experience as excellent and almost every child saying they would recommend it to next year’s Year 6.
Thank you to our staff for organising such a memorable and valuable opportunity, and to our children for representing the school so brilliantly!
