At Mapledene, Religious Education (RE) is coordinated by Mrs Walsh, who also teaches Oak class.

We follow the Birmingham Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education, which provides a structured and progressive approach to developing children’s knowledge and understanding of a range of world religions, beliefs and world-views.

Through our RE curriculum, children are encouraged to explore big questions, reflect on their own beliefs and values, and develop respect and understanding for the diverse communities and cultures around them. Lessons provide opportunities for discussion, enquiry and thoughtful reflection, helping children to build confidence in expressing their ideas while appreciating the perspectives of others.

RE lessons are engaging, meaningful and designed to encourage curiosity, compassion and a deeper understanding of the world we live in.
