Parental Partnership
At Mapledene, we believe that strong relationships with parents and carers make a real difference to children’s happiness, wellbeing, and success.
Rooted in our values of 'Safety, Commitment, Aspirations', we are proud to create a welcoming environment where families feel respected, listened to, and supported.
Our whole team is committed to building positive relationships with parents and carers. We take part in regular training to support clear, effective communication, and we work together to ensure this welcoming approach is consistent across the school. We are also proud to have a dedicated team working to promote parental engagement, helping to strengthen the partnership between home and school.
Whether it’s greeting families at the gate, being available for a quick chat, or taking time to listen, we aim to ensure every interaction helps families feel safe, valued, and confident in our care.
We actively encourage and value the views of parents and carers, knowing that your insights help us to grow and improve. We gather feedback both informally, through everyday conversations, and formally, through surveys, meetings, and consultations. This shared commitment helps us continue to develop the very best provision for all children.
We are also fortunate to have a highly successful Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA), which plays a vital role in strengthening our school community. Through a range of events and fundraising activities, the PTFA brings families, staff, and the wider community together, helping to enhance opportunities and resources for all our children. Their dedication and energy make a significant contribution to school life and further enrich the experiences we are able to offer.
We have high aspirations for every child, and we know these are best achieved when we work in partnership with families. We warmly welcome parents into school life, joining (and taking part in) celebration assemblies, joining in workshops, and supporting school and PTA events. These opportunities strengthen our community and show children that, together, we are committed to their success.
We also celebrate the wonderful contributions of our families, regularly recognising parent involvement through our newsletters and wider communications.
Together, we create a safe, supportive, and aspirational community where every child can thrive.
