Forest Schools
Forest School provides a wonderful opportunity to learn outdoors and engage with the natural environment.
In Forest School sessions children are encouraged to explore and discover through imaginative activities such as stretcher building, sculpture and den building in order to develop creative thinking and problem solving skills. Children learn how to work as part of a team, which helps to develop their communication and negotiation skills. Being self-directed and managing their own risks empowers the children, developing their confidence and self-esteem. Forest School also helps children to connect with the natural world, fostering a love of nature and motivation to protect their world.
Forest School is also a very practical way of exploring other aspects of the curriculum for example Science, Geography and History.
