Year 6
RESIDENTIAL INFORMATION!
School is closed today.
We hope you are staying safe at home and are keeping warm enough. The decision has been made today to shut the school today because of the snow.
Hopefully, you will have chance to get outside and have a play in the snow today, but when you are taking some breaks or warming yourself back up inside, we have posted some work on here to make today a learning day too.
There are objectives on Doodle from what we have been covering this week:
In Maths, please try measuring the acute and obtuse angles using protractors.
In English, there is a Reading comprehension on 'Winter Arriving' (as it seems to have returned!)
In Spelling, the words are very similar to the ones we have been practising for our Dictation this week.
The Vile Victorians!
We were also planning to show you how the vicious Victorians treated children during Victorian times. Watch the videos below to learn a few facts about what life was like for young people in the 1800s. Compare it to the life you have now.
Find some inner peace too this afternoon
Normally, we would be doing some Yoga this afternoon and we know many of you enjoy it. Try to find some time to practice some of the moves and positions we have been doing on Friday afternoons.
Look at the video below, or search for some yoga tutorials yourself. Namaste!

SATs workshop
Thank you all for coming to work with your child and to hear the teachers talk about the forthcoming test that the children will be sitting. It was great to have you in school and working with your children. We hope you will agree that the children are working very hard and are all starting to show real confidence with their Maths learning.
Please find below the PowerPoint that Mr Barber and Mr Collett showed to the parents before we went downstairs. Also below are copies of the sample papers that the children completed.
If you are looking for more questions like these, remember it can be as simple as substituting the numbers for new ones to keep the questions fresh. More example questions will be uploaded and please ask your child to ask their teacher for any on areas they are finding particularly difficult.
