Voting Day Work
Good morning Year 2,
Below is your work for the day. Remember to get your adults to take a photo and send it to advice@mapledeneschool.com so that you can earn house points and merits for your work. We look forward to hearing from you.
Miss Johnson, Mrs Robinson and Mrs Lockley
English:
In English, we have been learning all about polar bears as they live in the Arctic. We wrote a report on polar bears. Can you use your reading skills to research one of the animals below by clicking on the link?
Arctic Fox - https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/facts/arctic-fox
Caribou - https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/facts/caribou
Snowy Owl - https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birds/facts/snowy-owl
Then use the facts to create a poster or report about the animal. Remember to use sub-headings like ‘What do they eat?’, ‘Where do they live?’ and ‘What do they look like?’
We have attached our polar bear report template so that you can be reminded what we are looking for.
Maths:
Use the strategies we have learnt in Year 2 to answer the 10 questions on the sheet provided. Remember to use jottings if you cannot answer them mentally. You do not need to print the sheet and can answer them on paper.
We have provided an answer sheet so that you can mark them with your grown up, but don’t look at it till you have done.
PE:
In PE, we would love it if you furthered your Gymanstics skills by working on balancing.
Follow the online PE lesson below.
If you would like to do any work on these, try joining in with any of the videos that can be found here:
Science:
In Science, we have been learning all about habitats and animals that live in the Arctic and in micro-habitats closer to home.
Have a go at exploring in your garden or the park (with an adult) to see if you can complete the attached checklist.
